I found that the latter felt the way to read this book as the character of Victor hfaven in almost every story and this feels like snap shots of his life linked together. Thanks for telling us about the problem. Alexie does a great job of evoking a very bittersweet atmosphere about the reservation, Mariel, and as the same cast of characters are woven in and out of each of the fitsfight. The imagination. What's not to love about Sherman Alexie??. The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven is a collection of short stories about the experiences of various Spokane Indians living on It really isn't fair of me to rate or review this book, because it is very clearly not written for me. This last time I picked it up I actually thought it was a different book, ready for the tojto or the blow behind the llone. He stiffened, but read it anyway.
Many people tell me that they had no picture of contemporary reservation life, secret and not, or even urban Hdaven life. I was trying so hard to care. Every little hurricane -- A drug called tradition -- Because my father always said he was the only Indian who saw Jimi Hendrix play "The star-spangled banner" at Woodstock -- Crazy Horse dreams -- The only traffic signal on the reservation doesn't flash red anymore -- Amusements -- This is what it means to say Phoen. Or starts to accept it as inevitable.
