There's a host of events going on in Reading this weekend from cats to Diwali and Remembrance Sunday to Christmas markets. James Bowen, the author of the Street Cat Named Bob book series, will be doing book signings with readers at Waterstones alongside his characterful tomcat Bob. Diwali celebrations will be continuing for Reading's Hindus this week, with a special performance and worship at the town's temple in Whitley Street. West Country legends The Wurzels are heading to Sub89 and those who want something a bit more energetic should head to the After Dark for a night of dancehall, hip hop and jungle. Sport fans, can watch the Reading Renegades take on Cardiff Lions in a game of rugby, or watch a livestream of the fight between Tony Bellew and Oleksandr Usyk at Matchbox. The former Big Issue vendor turned bestselling author has just released his sixth book, For the Love of Bob, and is preparing A Gift From Bob, which will be ready in time for Christmas. In the space of two years he has sold more than one million copies in the UK. James and his scarf-wearing, high-fiving, streetwise cat Bob are in high demand.
