Hyperbole and a Half - E-bok - Allie Brosh () | BokusWe dare you not to. Because I wrote it, I had to figure out what to put on the back cover to explain what it is. Perhaps I have underestimated my sneakiness! When I was ten years old, I wrote a letter to my future self and buried it in my backyard. Seventeen years later, I remembered that I was supposed to remember to dig it up two years earlier. I looked forward to getting a nostalgic glimpse into my childhood—perhaps I would marvel at my own innocence or see the first glimmer of my current aspirations. As it turns out, it just made me feel real weird about myself.

Allie Brosh started her blog "Hyperbole and a Half" in Retrieved This Hyperbole and a Half Review I'm happy that this book exists. Some of my favorite sections are about Allie's 'simple dog' mentally challenged - who can't learn to hyperboke up or down steps; is unable to escape from a small blanket loosely thrown over her; can't find a treat she sees being placed under a plastic cup; won't stop eating stinging bees; pddf paralyzed by fear of snow; and so on.
Each one of us have our way of coping so that the tunnels never cave in. Spelling Grade 5. Allie Brosh is fucking funny. Use your social account:.

And it is especially dangerous when applied to four-year-olds. Four-year-olds lack the experience to wield power responsibly. They have no idea what to do with it or how to control it. The dinosaur costume was the greatest thing that had ever happened to me. The previous Halloween, which was the first Halloween I could actually remember, my parents had dressed me as a giant crayon, and the whole experience had been really uncomfortable for me. But being a dinosaur felt natural. The feeling had been slowly intensifying ever since I put the costume on that morning, and, as I stood there in the middle of the classroom, staring off into the distance in an unresponsive power trance, it finally hit critical mass.
This is a book that I will continue to go back to, laughter and hope. I've been amiss lately at adding necessary legal disclaimers to my reviews. That girl whose humorous outlook and style reflect a life on the edge Love this book. View all 6 comments?
You will rip through it in three hours, tops. I must have interrupted Melinda a dozen times to read to her passages that made me laugh out loud. Her timing and tone are consistently spot on. And so is her artwork. I was less excited about the discovery because it turned my dog into a horrible, vomit-making perpetual-motion machine. But her best stuff is the deep stuff, especially the chapters about her battles with severe depression.
Five stars? Initial comments: I will pdv love Allie Brosh for introducing me to the Alot. I don't know her feelings on it yet, but I'll update when she returns it I highly recommend the book to anyone who wants a good laugh.
She has been missed on the web, another true gem of childhood. Your Gates Notes account has been deactivated. I started following it quite some time ago and was taken by her very humorous and true to life narratives coupled with awesome artwork. Sure wish her blog was active and she continued to post.A worthwhile read, also her blog. Though she presents herself as a person struggling with severe depression issues in a number of the stories, she touches on human truths most of us experience. Requesting an hypfrbole deletion will permanently remove all of your profile content. Felt a bit disjointed, which is precisely why I dock it 1 star.
That girl that looks at life with a unique twist I've read "God of Cake" probably 30 times already but I still giggled when I read it again in the book. Please write back. Readers of her blog will recognise some of the stories in this.
